which exceed member expectations

• Manage the mowing schedule and plant protection program for the entire 300-acre property, ensuring championship playing conditions daily

• Perform duties required to maintain 20 A1/A4 Bentgrass push-up greens with XGD systems and 3 Bentgrass USGA greens,
including chemical applications, fertilizer applications, topdressing, scouting and water management

• Schedule and oversee the plant-protection program for all playing surfaces, clubhouse grounds and native areas; track all applications using Playbooks to ensure timely applications and accurate record-keeping

• Implementation of John Deere GPS Sprayers to ensure accurate applications while reducing overall application costs

• Utilize labor tracking software to optimize productivity while monitoring the labor budget

• Monitor soil moisture levels and manage daily irrigation practices to ensure optimal levels for championship
playing conditions and turf health

 

PHILADELPHIA COUNTRY CLUB, GLADWYNE, PA
ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT, 2016 - 2021

Private, family oriented, member-owned platinum country club with an 18-hole championship golf course designed
by William Flynn and an additional 9-hole course, practice facility renovated by Forse Design.

• Managed a diverse crew of up to 40 full-time and part-time maintenance employees in a fast-paced and demanding work environment; utilized great attention to detail and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure quality golf course conditions which exceed member expectations

• Manage Har-Tru Hydro Court maintenance on tennis court and supervise shooting lodge events and inventory; direct and coordinate the club’s snow removal program

• Oversaw a complete regrassing and grow-in of a 9 hole course and driving range, including Fumigation on greens,

• Non-selective herbicide applications on fairways, bentgrass species selection for greens/tees/fairways, selection of warm season grasses for driving range

• Oversee and execute the Centennial Driving Range renovation which includes Better Billy Bunker systems throughout the course,
4 brand new greens, addition of new 5-acre practice facility, and installation of a Toro 2-wire decoder irrigation system

• Completed many large “In-house” projects including stripping and leveling tee complexes, large scale clearing projects,
sodding of large rough areas, complete pond bank restoration project

• Oversaw pond dredging project completed on property by Toth Brothers Dredging, large pond project included
increasing size/depth by 60%, managed the containment and disposal/use of dredging materials

 

SARATOGA SPA GOLF COURSE SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY
ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT 2014 - 2016

18-hole, championship golf course, renovated in the 1950s with a design by William Mitchell; consistent recipient
of 4 stars from Golf Digest’s Best Places to Play.

• Oversaw daily preparation of the playing surfaces and golf course set-up, ensuring optimal course playability

• Communicated with superintendent and assistant superintendent about the status of the course, staff, and equipment
to provide necessary information to continue smooth and effective operations

• Completed a bunker renovation over all 18-holes and rebuilt the 10th green as part of master plan
